[/cita]
Hello, the easiest thing for what you want is to put the follow route button on the side button, this way you activate and deactivate the function when you are interested. The app cannot automatically activate the function only when you are on the route. Greetings troNpo

Gracias!

Hello, do you mean to import an OruxMaps GP profile to have the same configuration in OruxMaps NG? It is compatible since NG has everything that GP has, but when doing this keep in mind that the app's storage configuration will also change its addresses to the folders, you will have to correct this to make it work well. It also reviews some configurations to be able to take advantage of the new functions, such as zoom with speed, climber strections, dem shading etc.

i you are sure that i can use my old settings to the new app and the old settings are 100% compatible with the new app, i like this. For the new app settings, that the are misssing, i will change them - if i need them. I hope there in no bug and the new app crash after the import.

I myself used this technique and many others, keep in mind the app's storage configuration

i have follow your suggestion and it seems it works with no issue.

The new app (orux NG) it use only the folder android/media/oruxmap NG
This is very stange, because other navigation apps like ... osmand, orux, etc can use the folder android/media/
This option is helping the user to make a folder like "maps" and all the apps can share the same folder / place
-Google allow this-

Tronpo

Coincidentally I use other apps to contrast OruxMaps behaviors to test bugs. All of them are play store offices. They all create their own folder on Android media. Osmand creates their own folder Call OBB on Android out of date. According to Google's rules it should be so, as far as we know. Anyway OruxMaps NG allows remote use from another folder outside the mapsforge map app, pdf maps and gotiff I think I remember, this allows sharing with other apps.

Greetings

how can i select forlder outside the oruxNG and have access to map/dem files ?

Tronpo

It is only possible with maps and not all formats, mapsforge and geopdf.
You with mapsforge themes in zip
Maps tab, add maps

thanks tronpo, it works with maps. Any change to access DEM and themes external folder ?

It works with maps Mapsforge, but apparently not with their POI database.
So, Oruxmaps NG can read maps from GP's private folder, but it must have the corresponding .poi files in its own private folder. Is that correct, or am I missing something? Thanks.

Mapsforge themes can also be used remotely just like maps, with the same procedure. The dem files must be in the app's own folders.

The file is correct because it is in the folders of the NG app. You have to use a little logic, which of the two apps has permission to use all Android folders? The answer is GP, so the easiest thing is to put the files in the OruxMaps NG storage, and then OruxMaps GP in app settings, direct the directories to the OruxMaps NG folders, in this way you can share the folders in a simple and efficient way. A point to keep in mind. OruxMaps NG has the latest mapsforge libraries, this allows the use of pois v4, which have a much faster search performance than the previous ones. (Not compatible with GP) you can find more information about this here: https://www.openandromaps.org/en/oam-forums/topic/mapsforge-poi-v4
