Hi,

Thanks so much for adding iOS version with garmin support. :)  I am selling maps of Iceland which have been used for years by my customers on both Garmin devices and Android with OruxMaps (of course).

I tested my map on iOS today and it looks pretty good, although there are couple of issues right away.

1. The app crashes quite a lot when using my map. My map is quite detailed and it may be causing some overloading.
2. I managed to get DEM working with my map but it looks strange as the hillshade looks too light compared to the Android version. I will post pictures that highlight the differences.

Thanks!

Tronpo

Hello, where can I get your maps to test on my iPhone? I currently use several types of garmin.img maps and they work smoothly. The shading of hills in the iOS version can be used in two ways, one with the external Dem files Hgt and another with the dem information included in the Garmin Map itself (this cannot be done in the android version currently) what shading do you refer to in your report? Greetings troNpo

I am using external HGT files (in DEM folder) like I did in the Android version. I tested both with generated DEM files from within the application and also my own HGT files which have worked well for Android.

If you are an OruxMaps developer I can give you access to my maps to test. They are sold on my website, I can give you product code that gives you the map for free.

Hello, I'm not a developer, just a user and tester. The iOS version has very few testers ... I do my best to help the development. So I know the iOS shadow layer is different from that of Android so it is logical that you see differences about it

I also bought the app 2 days ago and started using the Garmin maps and I am really happy that your app now supports it on iOS too.
For now it crashes after a few seconds while I browse the map.
But also I wanted to let you now that when you use the app on an iPad and not in full screen, the hamburger menu on the top left is located right under the small three iPadOS colored dots that allow you to close/miniyze and maximize the app. This makes it really difficult to open the hamburger menu.

Anyway, thanks for this update and I wish to use much more in the future. 😊

Hello, what Garmin maps are you using? To try on my iPhone 14. I use garmin opentopomaps and Freizeitkarte and they work fluids. It's just to do tests, do you use TYP files?

Pati

Hello,

I use the same map as Ivar.
I tried on my iPad because I thought that the iPad M4 chip would be powerful enough and with enough memory compared to my iPhone but it did not seem to help.

The new update fixed the problem I had with these maps!
This is an excellent news for me  :)

And also, the hamburger menu does not overlap anymore with the iPad windows control button.

Thanks a lot for fixing these issues so promptly!
