My reason for buying Oruxmaps is to import the wonderful geopdfs provided here: https://portal.spatial.nsw.gov.au/portal/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=06e3c2e0de1e4efda863854048c613c6  I have followed the steps below but Oruxmaps does not see the maps:
1. I install Oruxmaps
2. I copy the geopdf map into the storage/oruxmaps/mapfiles folder that the Oruxmaps install creates
3. I click the spinning double arrow button at the top of the Maps screen
4. I restart Oruxmaps
No new offline maps are listed.  I have tried this with many variations but the map is not loaded.
I was able to import these maps in Avenza before they started blocking on the non-paid version.

I find if I treat these maps as simple non-geopdfs and import them as images by matching them to 4 points on the world map then they can be added, but I don't want to have to do this for every map.
Is there a trick to making the import work?

Thanks
Mark

Hello!

Check the maps folder in settings > app storage > maps folder.

Sure it is pointing to the private storage in Android/.....

Woohoo, it works.  Thanks you
I think this should be more clearly documented in the manual, I read a lot of it but didn't know about the Maps Directory directory setting.  The WHAT'S NEW 9.x VERSION section on page 6 says the following but does not make clear how to use the maps directory: App storage.
Here there is an important change. Since this version OruxMaps is FORCED (it is not its own
decision) by Android to use the private folders of the app, it can NO LONGER directly use the root of
the internal storage or an SD card.
If you update from a previous version of OruxMaps, the app gives you the option not to migrate the
data to the app's private folders, so you can use the previous system.
If the phone has an Android version lower than Android 10, the previous storage system is also still
used.
BUT if this version is installed for the first time, the app is FORCED to use the private storage folders
in the path Android/data/com.orux.oruxmapsDonate/files/oruxmaps/ and save everything there.
In case the app uses private storage, in global settings→app storage there are two useful tools:
→Import resources: Used to bring individual resources (maps, routes,...) from any phone directory to
the app's private folders.

I think a section could be added to the Offline Maps section on page 77.  It currently says: In the configuration we have to define a parent directory for all the maps (don't worry, it is
automatically created the first time in the phone's default storage directory, either SD card or internal
memory: oruxmaps/mapfiles/).
Within this parent folder, subdirectories can be created, and within these, other subdirectories. The
objective is to organize the maps in folders, by families, scales, sources ... whatever we want.
It should then say: Simply copy your geoPDF or other maps into oruxmaps/mapfiles/ or a subdirectory under that directory.  Now you need to ensure Oruxmaps references that directory. This is done in Settings -> App storage -> Directories -> Alternative maps directory. Set the directory where your maps are stored.  Now when you go the Maps -> OFFLINE you should see your maps listed.   A reference to this should be added to the QUICK START section on page 8.  I really feel so many great apps need a little more time spent of the most common standard steps used by so many users.

Thanks again for answering.  I am really happy now.
