Hello, the "mapsource" folder? In OruxMaps the folder for the maps in "mapfiles"

It is not displayed in the map list (I understand that you have refreshed the list) or is it not displayed in the map viewer?

orpheus77

It is not displayed in the map list. I refreshed serveral times and also restarted the tablet.

Have you tried other garmin.img maps? Maybe the format you use is not recognisable by the app not all img formats are valid for example the original garmin v6 and v7 are in NT img format, these are not read by orux. You can try with the garmin of opentopomaps     https://garmin.opentopomap.org/ their use in orux is 100% proven.

I downloaded the Ireland map from your link, but this map is also NOT shown in the maplist :-(

So I suspect that you are not using the correct folder for the maps... in settings > app storage > offline maps, you can see the address of the directory that the app is using for storage. There is where he will go to look for the maps. If you have Android 11 or higher, you are using Android/data in private storage

orpheus77

YES - that's it!!! Thank you so much for your help. Now the map is in the list and I can open it too. I also cpoied the .typ file with same name in the folder and that seems to work too.
I will finish and test the map now.

Thank You - Stefan

I'm glad the problem is solved, remember to clear cache to correctly see the changes when adding the TYP file greetings

orpheus77

OK, how can I clean the cache?

Tronpo

In Orux: Global settings > maps > clear vector cache On Android: app information > storage > delete cache I personally recommend deleting in both settings

I started testing an slipped into the next problem: The garmin polygone for water (0x46) is displayed, but the polygones for wood (0x50) and shallow water (0x4c) are NOT displayed - the map is white.
Any idea how to fix that? Schould i define it in the type file?

On that subject I can't help you, I'm not a friend of Garmin maps :) but I don't think you're not misguided if the information is in the Map the one in charge of making it displayed is the TYP file. But if I can offer you some TYP files so you can compare on your map https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z5QSibjwrkcMjbmUBPrPikIxtx5p_R6q/view? Usp=drivesdk

Defining the polygones with the same type code in typ file solved the problem!
