Displaying position of a ship through AIS

I am looking for ways to display on a hiking map the current position of a ferry that does multiple stops around an island.

I understand that one possibility might be aisstream.ai that provides free AIS data at a format useable from Oruxmaps under option AIS through IP.

Has anybody tried or played around with that or any other method?
