It looks like a recent update has more error handling: refresh now gives me this error:

Refreshing doesn't fix it; force quitting and restarting doesn't fix it either.

One GeoTIFF that I'm trying to load is this: https://portal.spatial.nsw.gov.au/download/NSWTopographicMaps/DTDB_GeoReferenced_Raster_CollarOff_161080/2025/25k/9029-2N+BULLI.tif

iOS / GeoTIFF import not working on iOS

Importing a GeoTIFF file doesn't seem to work:

- you can import a file using Maps -> Offline -> Import
- I can see the file in the /maps/ directory
- However, the file doesn't appear in the list in the Maps -> Offline tab

If I try to import it again it says "Error importing map: FileSystemException: The file already exists!, path=/var/mobile/.../Documents/maps/<filename>" so it appears that it has been imported, it's just not showing in the list

iOS / Re: iOS version - GeoPDF and maximum zoom

I've just compared the maximum zoom using the iOS built in PDF viewer with OruxMaps. I also compared the same zoom in OruxMaps and the builtin viewer.

Notes:
(1) The OruxMaps maximum zoom is not enough

(2) Even at the same zoom, the OruxMaps rendering is blurry

OruxMaps maximum zoom (blurry) :

Builtin, same zoom (not blurry):

iOS / iOS version - GeoPDF and maximum zoom
May 14, 2026, 08:52:58 AM
I've just found OruxMaps after searching for an alternative to the no-longer-free Avenza Maps that supports GeoPDF. (All topo maps here in NSW, Australia are available free in GeoPDF format.)

I'm very impressed that importing GeoPDF *just works*! I'm looking forward to trying this out on an upcoming hike.

However, there appears to be one issue: zoom in is quite limited, and not really sufficient to see detail on these maps. Is there a reason for this constraint, or a setting to change the maximum zoom?
