iOS / Re: First impressions using garmin format

Quote from: Tronpo on May 06, 2026, 01:28:26 PMHello, where can I get your maps to test on my iPhone? I currently use several types of garmin.img maps and they work smoothly. The shading of hills in the iOS version can be used in two ways, one with the external Dem files Hgt and another with the dem information included in the Garmin Map itself (this cannot be done in the android version currently) what shading do you refer to in your report? Greetings troNpo

I am using external HGT files (in DEM folder) like I did in the Android version. I tested both with generated DEM files from within the application and also my own HGT files which have worked well for Android.

If you are an OruxMaps developer I can give you access to my maps to test. They are sold on my website, I can give you product code that gives you the map for free.

iOS / First impressions using garmin format
May 06, 2026, 12:31:27 AM
Hi,

Thanks so much for adding iOS version with garmin support. :)  I am selling maps of Iceland which have been used for years by my customers on both Garmin devices and Android with OruxMaps (of course).

I tested my map on iOS today and it looks pretty good, although there are couple of issues right away.

1. The app crashes quite a lot when using my map. My map is quite detailed and it may be causing some overloading.
2. I managed to get DEM working with my map but it looks strange as the hillshade looks too light compared to the Android version. I will post pictures that highlight the differences.

Thanks!
