BETAS / Re: Buying Beta
May 06, 2026, 07:13:02 AM
Hi, from why i understand between the lines/comments above:
The potential new "OruxMaps NG" would not allow me anymore to store and easily access files in the subdirectories "mapfiles", "mapstyles", "dem", "tracklogs", "preferences" within \oruxmaps in the root filesystem of android?
I currently use various filemanager apps, as well as the option the connect my phone via USB to PC to access all files.

interesting. I would be happy to buy that NG version ontop of the GP version.
How about this: for users who have purchased "OruxMaps GP" and buy "OruxMaps NG", allow them afterwards to claim refund for their GP version?

Or what other manufacturer are you using?

MEJORAS/NEW FEATURES / Altitude graph of a loaded track
August 10, 2025, 08:10:08 PM
Hi,
i like the existing option to display the current position in the altitude graph, below the map, while following a track.
What would be also nice to have:
A track is just loaded on the map, and it's altitude graph is shown below the map. Now someone could
- either move a dot/marker along the track, while a dot/marker simultanously moves along the altitude graph
- or you move the dot/marker in the altitude graph, and the dot/marker in the map moves accordingly.

iOS / Re: First OruxMaps + version, for iOS

i tried it on iPhone.
The map download/install buttons from OpenAndromaps website ("Android Install on:") for the maps work fine.
Offline maps can be selected.
First i was missing the Elevate style to select, found no way to install it sepereatly.
But after a restart, Elevate was available for selection.
Good start for iOS users.

Thank you Tronpo!
I was able to change the color individually within the track database.
Loading multiple track as "map overlay" showed the overlay in these colours.
But until now, i was not able to set "thickness", of the map overlay.
I tried:
Global Settings->UserInterface->Tracks/routes/lines/letter sizes...
Routes in the map viewer ( to experiment, i set route line widths and seconday route line widths to 24px )

GENERAL / Thickness and colour of multiple tracks loaded as overlay
January 27, 2025, 07:50:37 AM
Hello,
v 10.7.4 GP....
i use the feature to select multiple tracks and then load them as map overlay.
Shows up in blue above my OpenAndroMaps.
Is there a setting to adjust the thickness of these lines in the overlay?
In the settings i only find thickness and colours for tracks, routes and TMG line.

Hello,
i like the Sicami App. I noticed within the app, there are google advertisements.
I fully understand there are development and server costs, money shall come in.
I wonder if a paid, ad-free version, of SICAMI is an option in the future?

Ok, on the App I know the changelog position, but not exists on Internet a location where I found the changelogs for ALL the OM releases?
Why are you not simply updating your the OruxMaps version to the latest GP 10.5.0 (currently)?
Why even thinking about "at least to 10"? And how/where would you get an outdated OruxMaps GP version, which contains bugs?

Your 8.5.5 from Google Playstore is too old.
Looking in the changelog, i see:
mapsforge 0.17 came with v9.0.0 GP
mapsforge 0.19 came in some version between 9.0.0 GP and current 10.5.0GP
The features and numbering scheme of "Donate version" (latest 7.4.28 to download) are not in sync with version numbers in Google Playstore.

Hi,
the changelog does not show.
Simply use the current version from PlayStore (today 10.5.0), or latest 7.4.28 (as of today) from https://www.oruxmaps.com/cs/en/more/downloads
Would recommend the Playstore version, nicely maintained.
