the route planner is almost perfect! However I would love to see the option to insert segments not only at the end of the route but somewhere in between, eg. a small detour to visit an additional place. In principle this is already possible by moving the red or green dots. Unfortunately there might be a large distance between two red points, so at the place where I want to start my detout there might be no green dot between the two red dots available which I could use to move and to build my detout (well I coud zoom out, move a green dot near this location, zoom in again and proceed).
So my wish would be to have an option to insert an intermediate green (or red?) dot, e.g. by long pressing on the route or by moving the cross on the rout and by pressing an "insert" button.
Additionally it would be helpful to have an option to delete a red dot, in case there are intermediate "detours" which I want to eliminate afterwards.
I guess what I'm suggesting is more or less the "normal planning mode" which the brouter web interface is already using (but there they have the comfort to use a mouse interface, so things are much easier to realize).
Additionally there might be an option in the route planner settings to avoid the pop up dialog, when you move a red or a green dot, asking you if you are ready to accept the new position. When you move a lot of dots around this quickly gets annoying. However on the other hand, that would be an easy place to add the "delete point" option, by letting the user choose between "delete, accept, cancel". Certainly there will be better solutions to integrate my litte "detour" idea in the interface. Maybe the functionallyty I'm missing is already there and I'm just to stupid to use the planner the right way.

I really like the option to add intermediate points; it's a very useful and necessary feature. I'd like to take advantage of this thread to propose a few improvements for the route planner:
• Save the last planned route when closing the planner (optional).
This would be very helpful, especially when using alternative routes. When we exit the planner, we can only export one of the alternatives. If the last plan were saved, reopening the planner would restore all three alternatives, allowing us to select and export another one without repeating the whole process.
This would make it much easier to create and export different versions of a plan.
• Custom button panel dedicated to the route planner.
When using the planner, the top bar becomes inactive, and the side button panels may not be optimized for planning tasks. Being able to configure a dedicated button panel for the planner would greatly improve usability (I even have a specific profile just for this).
• Editing points and segments during the planning process.
Although editing is possible after the route is created, having an intermediate screen before sending the plan to the map viewer —where we could edit points, segments, names, attach files, or delete unnecessary points (such as some turn indicators)— would significantly enhance the planner's capabilities.
• BRouter matches.
Since the alternative route generated in the "matches" feature comes from BRouter, why not open it directly in the planner? With the corresponding intermediate points, we could refine and correct the resulting route more easily.
I would gladly pay for an annual subscription to support the extra work required to implement any of these improvements.
