I have an issue with DEM files, when I store them in oruxmaps directory or in Android/data...oruxmaps, in both path oruxmaps can't find them and I have a message there are missing DEM files, when I want to calculate a topographic path or see the altitude at a point on the map..
The issue is on my phone with android 16.
I've tried the same on a android 13 and it's working fine.
Same with GP or NG version.
What can I debug?

Hello, do you have the corresponding folder configured in the app's storage? Try to validate the directory path of the folder again, if you have the others hosted inside a subfolder within the folder, you have to enter the latter and validate the directory. You can put a screenshot of the file path on Android and in the app, to have a better reference. Greetings troNpo

Hay una cosa que me mosquea y es que cuando desinstalo la aplicacion, y compruebo antes que no haya ninguna carpeta ya, cuando la vuelvo a instalar me dice que detecta ya una instalacion previa.. y no se de donde saca esa información.

I do have the same issue on a FairPhone 6 with Andoid 16 (degoogled device on iodeos 7.5). The dem files are downloaded and automatically extracted in the correct default folder. They are visible and each *hgt file has the size of 2,75 mb. If I try to activate hill shades orux tells me that the dem files are not available and directs me to the download map.
Orux version 10.7.4 GP
Same version working properly on
a degoogled device with lineage based on android 9
Same version is working properly on a lineage with Gaps based on android 12.
Same version is working properly on a stock android 11
Anything i can debug?

in the meantime I bought and installed OruxMaps 12.0.3 NG on my degoogled Fairphone 6. I still have the same issue as before, no hill shades no 3d view. On my older degoogled smartphone or the one with stock ROM all seems to work as expected hillshades and 3d view are working fine there.
Deinstalled GP and NG version and then reinstalled NG version. But the issue remains...
Anything I can do to help identifying the root cause?

Are you downloading the DEMs from within the app itself?
OruxMaps NG should work in Android/media/... not Android/data/...
It's possible the app hasn't detected that the DEM files have been downloaded. In that case, try killing the app's process (close it from the open apps manager; simply moving it to the background isn't enough). Then reopen the app. Does it work?

the dem files are downloaded and extracted into the default folders by orux in Android/media.
Even after a restart of the phone the dem files are not 'recognised'.
The name of the according dem files are displayed in the map, when the option 'show DEM index' is activated.

I followed the instructions of the video pointing to the dem files. But still the same no hill shades or 3d view...
Still the same issue with latest Version 12.0.4 NG
I solved the problem by using a folder on my sdcard instead of internal diskspace. Hillshades and 3d view is now available.
