Android/media: good solution for access problems for managers.

Personally I prefer to use public memory as it gives us the option.
I see that by giving permission to manage all folders and migrating to public folders,
Files are not "moved" from Android media to public memory, the files are copied.

Estoy probando lo del segmento del escalador:
Soy de los que llevan cargada una ruta en el visor de mapas y la voy siguiendo, sin llevar activada la opción de seguimiento de ruta, es decir siguiéndola visualmente. Hago esto por que he comprobado que con el seguimiento, el móvil me consume más batería, activandolo en momentos puntuales.
Se podría una vez cargada la ruta sin activar su seguimiento, abrir la computadora de viaje y una vez separados los segmentos, por los criterios de filtrado; la aplicación estableciera un waipont visual justo al comienzo de cada segmento de escalador (o se pintara o resaltara de alguna manera diferente), para que cuando se esté acercando visualmente a uno de ellos, poder activar el seguimiento de ruta y poder ver todos sus datos en la computadora de viaje por ejemplo?

As voice warnings they already exist (I have not been able to test it).
I also expect an automatic change in the altitude graphs when entering the climber segments, i.e. the graph goes from an overview to a [zoom🔎] segment graph. Both in the graph on the frame and on the on-board computer climber's screen.

Y debido a que cuando se llega a un segmento de escalador, y se quiere hacer el seguimiento del mismo; cuando se hace en la computadora de viaje, se pierde la noción de por donde se va, al no visualizar al mismo tiempo el mapa. Podría pasar que el segmento de escalador terminara o continuara pasado un cruce al que llegáramos y no supiéramos para donde tirar, al no visualizar el mapa.
Esto se podría hacer en el propio visor de mapas y la gráfica encima del cuadro de mandos, pero al llevar este configurado con bastantes campos, + los que se añaden del segmento del escalador + los del seguimiento de ruta, se hace difícil ver el mapa, al quedar poco espacio.
¿No se podría, llevar 2 cuadros de mandos?, Es decir, que cuando se llegase a un segmento escalador y se pusiera o se llevara puesto el seguimiento de ruta, se cambiara automáticamente (opcional también), y apareciera el segundo cuadro de mandos, con los campos específicos y algunos más, para hacer el seguimiento del mismo. Lo de algunos más, serían por ejemplo las pulsaciones, velocidad, etc.

Comparto la idea de dos cuadros de mandos específicos, configurables uno en cuadro de mandos clásico y un segundo cuadro de mandos especifico para los segmentos de escalador.
No es necesario ver todo el tiempo todos los datos.
Si esta alternativa es posible será fantástica, que el cuadro de mandos especifico escalador hiciera una entrada automática junto con el zoom de segmento en la gráfica de altitudes.
(más los avisos de voz ya existentes)
La función de escalador puedes ser un gran salto a la hora de seguir rutas en ciclismo.
Añado que pagaría un plus por esta función optimizada.

Hola, los segmentos de escalador me parece una mejora muy interesante y con grandes posibilidades de desarrollo, especialmente para los que vamos en bicicleta.
Como han comentado en los post anteriores, sería interesante que se incluyeran avisos visuales a la entrada/salida de los segmentos y que se pudiera configurar para que automáticamente se visualizará el perfil de altitud del segmento, así como algunos datos exclusivos del segmento (metros/km al final del segmento, etc). Pienso como han propuesto que se podría aprovechar para esto el recuadro de "ayuda a la navegación", pasando a dar los datos del segmento escalador cuando entremos en un segmento.

Ahora lo que pasa es que trabajando en modo apaisado y teniendo los indicadores a un lado, no me deja modificar los indicadores. Solo los dos primeros funcionan. El resto no. Si hago una pulsacion larga no funciona, si hago una pulsacion corta la detecta y me dice que tengo que hacer una larga para modificar.

Hola, tienes activado el bloqueo de pantalla, esto limita muchos gestos de pulsación de pantalla.
Puedes desactivar en el menú mapas > bloque de pantalla. También puedes revisar la configuración global > elementos visuales > bloqueo de pantalla, para configurar como quieres que actúen las pulsaciones en pantalla cuando el bloqueo está activado. Saludos
Gracias @tronpo por la ayuda, no ha funcionado. He creado un perfil nuevo desde fabrica y pasa lo mismo. Si te fijas hay 8 indicadores. Los dos primeros separados del los 6 restantes. Pues bien, los dos primeros funcionan a la perfeccion, son los 6 siguientes los que tienen este corportamiento.

In my case, to reduce the search or saturation of waypoints in the managers, what I do is export the waypoints in a file (kml ,gpx ,kmz) with a certain group of waypoints.
I store these files on Android and keep the app's database cleaner and lighter, when I need to work with a certain group of waypoints I just have to upload the corresponding file to the database

Me gusta lo de la gráfica del escalador pero, creo que no va a quedar espacio para ver el mapa y poder seguir la ruta. Por ejemplo, si el segmento de escalador, incluye un cruce donde vas a llegar, y no vas a saber para donde tirar, para derecha, izquierda, recto, etc., por que no estas viendo el mapa. No sé, quizás, si reduciéndola un poco, quitándole el titulo de "segmento del escalador" y que quedara más espacio para el mapa. U otra solución?

Lo que apunta el compañero sobre no oscurecer la información que da el cuadro de mandos, es fundamental, ya que por ejemplo hay datos como las pulsaciones, que son necesarios. Ya que al afrontar el segmento del escalador, a la vez que ir viendo lo que falta para completarlo y en función de ellas (pulsaciones), bajar o subir el ritmo. Otro, sería la velocidad que se lleva.

OM 10.7.3 beta 3 crashes each time I try to load a map - no matter which kind of map (online, offline, wms ...), no matter how I open it (top or left menu, sidebar button). This also happens after a reboot of the phone or if I use a new profile.

Ayer salí a probar el nuevo botón del escalador de la barra lateral. Cuando me avisó de la entrada de en nuevo segmento de escalador, le pulsaba a dicho botón y me aparecía la gráfica de la la ruta entera, no la gráfica a zoom solo del segmento. La gráfica ocupa gran parte del visor de mapa, impidiendo seguir la ruta visualmente, ya que no la puedes ver.

He probado hoy lo del escalador. En la gráfica no me refleja ningún dato en los campos de distancia hasta el final del segmento y en el de altitud que queda. Tampoco veo el campo de distancia total del segmento que nos sirve de mucha referencia. Tanto en la computadora de viaje como el cuadro de mandos estos datos aparecen.

Posiblemente estés intentando editar los segmentos del Track que estás grabando o acabas de grabar.
En el visor, borra el Track actual. Luego ya podrás editarlo.

Esta gráfica tapará el mapa, porque el objetivo es visualizar bien los datos del segmento. En pantallas cortas prácticamente la ocupa toda.
Tienes la opción de visualizar el segmento actual en las gráficas debajo/encima del cuadro de mandos, pero en pequeño. Añadiré la opción en esa gráfica para que muestre en detalle cada segmento, como se muestra ahora en ese diálogo.

En beta 5 cuando cargar una ruta con Waypoints, a estos una vez que los abres, la herramienta guardar y compartir una hacen la misma función.
Esto no pasa si loa cargas de firma unitaria em el visor.

With the beta-versions 10.6 and older I could select all my created waypoints and save them as a track. Then I could save that track to a file and import this file in another app. Like this I got all the waypoints and the connection between them as a track.
With beta 10.7 I can choose to convert to track. This does only create a track between the waypoints without these waypoints.
Can you please restore this function. It is the most used for me. I use it to improve the OSM.

When I choose save to track, the filesize is 9kB. When I choose save to gpx the filesize is 39kB. The first saving-option saves only the lines between the waypoints, the second saves only the waypoints.
Besides: in the old version it got saved as waypoints_actual date. In the new version it gets saved only with the actual date.
It seems that 10.7.x comes with an unannounced increase of the minimum Android API level: https://oruxmaps.org/forum/index.php?topic=44580.0
At least the newest versions of 10.7 come with proper compatibility metadata, so Play Store stopped overwriting my 10.6 install...

In my case the problem was that I had not assigned icon for the waypoints in vespucci ... A foolish thing, human error.

Ayer estuve probando nuevamente la función del segmento del escalador. La ruta que tenía cargada, incluía un trayecto de unos 11 kms que eran ida y vuelta por el mismo recorrido. La ida incluía varios segmentos de escalador., que me los iba cantando y mostrando Oruxmaps. Cuando estaba haciendo la vuelta, que era el mismo recorrido pero en sentido contrario, es decir los segmentos de antes eran ahora en descenso, me iba cantando y mostrando nuevamente los segmentos del escalador de la Ida, en las mismas distancias de estos últimos. Parece que no reconoce el sentido en que se recorre el segmento.

I don't know if you have noticed, but you can also delete, add rename yourself the profiles in the Android folder of brouter and in this way only see the profiles that you want in the list of the planner

I have already deleted the profiles I don't need and renamed those I need. I don't know how these profiles are sorted in the route planner but definitely not alphabetically.
In my opinion, this would make it easier to keep an overview, especially when you have a lot of profiles.
Advantages:
- profiles for the same means of transportation stand together
- you can place your favourite profiles on top of the list by adding numbers at the beginning of the name

I completely agree with you, my comment was not to deny your request just to inform .
The current method failed to find the placement pattern, it affects whether the profiles are capitalized, if they are composed of hyphens... Something strange.

no criticism from my side - also just an information what I tried to bring the profiles in the order I would like to have them.
I tried something more and found out, that renaming and deleting can cause problems and their effect can vanish within one second.
- Updating the brouter routing data via the brouter app (v 1.7.7) restores all original profiles, so deleting leads to nothing, renaming to doublets of profiles with different names. Updating the routing data via OM is OK.
- Deleted OM profiles will be restored when starting OM - but renaming works.
- Logically renamed original brouter profiles have to be assigned to the brouter server modes foot/bicycle/motorcar fast/short. If you don't, problems appear when you tap on a waypoint and want to search a route using brouter.
But this is just whining at a very high level. I'm really glad to have the possibility to show all profiles.

I did indeed come to the same conclusions as you, and I found some solutions from the user's side
To avoid conflicts when renaming, use basic names, without tiles, separation, etc ,icons.
To avoid resetting OM profiles ,Move from brouter to memory card, oruxmaps can't write there.
To avoid resetting brouter profiles, I update the segments from OruxMaps, much more convenient as well.
While waiting for new versions of OruxMaps, I am delighted with the planner and its exponential progress in the latest versions, you can get a lot out of brouter I always think that the best is yet to come.
And oruxmaps needs to have a high-level planner like it's achieving.

Acabo de llegar de probar la nueva beta. Y expongo mi experiencia:
- Por qué se ha limitado la longitud mínima en el filtrado del segmento del escalador a 200 metros?. Pienso que esto,lo que hace es limitar está utilidad al ciclismo (yo lo práctico) y quizás al de carretera.
- Si lo que se intenta, es hacer más atractiva la app para que más gente la utilice, en mi opinión debería seguir como antes y que cada usuario lo filtre a su criterio en función del deporte que va a practicar.
Pongo un ejemplo: una persona en silla de ruedas, podría filtrar una ruta a realizar y ver sus dificultades (pendientes) a través del segmento del escalador y seguro que ya una pendiente de más de 50 metros al 3% le resultaría fuerte.
- Por otra parte, vería más Interesante y práctica, la inclusión o convivencia de 2 cuadros de mandos, que se pudieran elegir con un solo deslizamiento del dedo. Así cuando entrara la gráfica del escalador, la que se sitúa encima del cuadro, al deslizar este, tuviera el otro cuadro con sólo los campos del segmento del escalador y así alternativamente.

My profiles are on the internal storage in the media folder as i don't have a memory card.

Hello, I already found the key, in this beta 7, it seems that the app needs the permissions to manage all the folders to be able to access all the profiles. In the previous one it was not necessary. It also seems to have fixed other bugs related to "all profiles" when not used from the scheduler.

Another piece of information, if you look in the OruxMaps folders there is a new folder called brouter, there is where the profiles of the OM_profiles app are now saved. You keep seeing them because they were recorded from the previous beta in the brouter folder.
I install each beta from 0, so I can better see the changes and avoid legacy bugs.

thanks für the information about the new profiles folder. Finding all changes in OM sometimes seems like a treasure hunt to me.
Starting from zero is surely best to find new features and bugs. I've always been too lazy to configure OM from scratch each time a new beta is published. I know that I can import settings via profiles, maps (wms, wmts, composite), intents and legends but predefined (and not wanted) intents and wms maps are not replaced by the backup and have to be deleted manually. Moreover these steps have to be done individually. The optimal settings backup and restore routine should unify these steps to a complete settings backup.
The option to change profiles' settings (the gear wheel) is really a great improvement to the route planner.

In beta 7, the dashboard altitude graph, when you press the magnifying glass to zoom in on the current segment graph is only held for a few seconds and restored to the full altitude graph. I think this is not the desired behavior.
The climber segment graph interacts perfectly with the altitude graph of the dashboard.

Para mí, en el senderismo por ejemplo, la longitud mínima de 200 m. en el filtrado, es excesiva.

the alternative routes in the route planner of beta 8 are a fantastic improvement. Just one suggestion: could you please add the length and duration of the selected route to the ones of the alternatives on the bottom right - so it's easier to compare the routes. Adding ascent and descent would make this feature perfect in my opinion. The data of the selected route on top of the screen waste too much space on smaller displays.

I like your proposal, when adding the selected route to the comparison you could fix the colors of route, in this way the colors will not alternate when selecting one or the other route, which is a little misleading.
Small nuance for another big improvement in this planner, which is getting better every day.

In view of the new functions of the planner ( alternative routes / profile settings ) .
In the option of "navigate to" either by pressing a waypoint, a poi or point on the map it would be very interesting to be able to use the option to open in the planner, I mean apart from the more direct traditional methods.
With the option to open in the planner you would directly add the location ( source point ) and the waypoint ( destination point ) , this allows us to enjoy the alternatives of the planner in a direct and fast way.

New function beta9: tracks - property - 3 horizontal bars - see it on Google earth, does not work at all..
Google Earth starts but doesn't display anything. Other times it gives account error (the account on Orux is my phone gmail and synchronization with Sicami works fine)

We had this feature before, but for a while Google Earth changed something and it didn't work anymore.
Try updating Google Earth, the latest version if it allows it.

Hola, veo que en la version final 10.7.3 (como pasa en la beta9) que en la computadora de viaje se puede deslizar entre pestanyas de una o dos columnas, navegacion, etc, pero no se puede deslizar con la de segmentos del escalador ni con la del mapa. Por si se pudiera activar para la siguiente version el deslizamiento por lo menos con la del escalador.
Por otro lado compre la version 10.7.3 presisamente por la funcion del escalador para ciclismo, que en cuanto se mejore un poco por fin vamos a poder dejar el garmin en casa y llevar un unico dispositivo (un movil en la potencia de la bici no escesivamente grande). Pero para ciclismo propongo estas 2 mejoras que nos ayudarian muchisimo:
- los campos tanto del cuadro de mandos como de la computadora de viaje son demasiado pequenyos (salvo el de una columna pero ese es demasiado grande y faltan campos). Lo que ocurre es que para hacer una lectura de los datos te obligan a apartar la vista de la carretera/senderos demasiado tiempo al ser demasiado pequenyos para poder leerlos rapidamente. Si entrenas a cierta velocidad o se va en grupetta rapido no es usable.
El tamanyo del mapa se reduciria un poco, si, pero no seria un problema en absoluto para seguir rutas y siempre se puede hacer un tab para quitar los campos y ver mapa a pantalla completa si es necesario. Soluciones que le veo:
1. Dar la opcion de aumentar los campos del cuadro de mandos todavia de mayor tamaño (mayor altura cada casilla), los ciclistas lo agradeceremos ;)
2. Agregar una pestanya adicional para ciclismo en la computadora de viaje con dos columnas pero donde la altura de cada campo sea igual que en la computadora de una columna? Basicamente es doblar los campos y por tanto la informacion que tendriamos en la computadora de una columna.
3. mejorar el cuadro de mandos como comentaba IBERO en la pagina anterior, pudiendo deslizar entre varios cuadro de manos (no los superiores, solo los inferiores) y asi por ejemplo poder configurar un cuadro para datos de potencia, otro de distancias y sobre todo otro de segmentos del escalador... o lo que le convenga a cada ciclista. Entendi leyendo en paginas anteriores que esto igual se va a implementar?

esto que comentas de ver el segmento del escalador ampliado en la grafica pequenya, junto al cuadro de mandos, me funcina en la beta9 pero en la 10.7.4 final (actualizada de google play) NO funciona. De hecho no esta la opcion en el menu Elementos visuales/cuadro de mandos/modo tramo escalador(hacer zoom al tramo del escalador actual) . en la beta9 si esta y es comodisimo para ciclismo porque puedo seguir la ruta en el mapa y ver el segmento de escalada al mismo tiempo resultando practico y tambien no tener que andar tocando la pantalla y soltando el manillar. Como comentaba arriba, iria muy bien disponer de otro cuadro de mandos (o mas de uno) que convivieran y se pudiera deslizar entre ellos hacia los lados y asi no comer espacio al mapa. Y para mejorarlo mas, por ejemplo al entrar en un ascenso o segmento de escalador, que se activara el segundo cuadro de mandos con los datos de ese ascenso y al finalizar el segmento que la grafica vuelva al perfil completo de la ruta (como hace la beta 9) y ademas que volviera al cuadro de mandos principal. En ciclismo se agradece no tener q estar tocando la pantalla y que entren y salgan los segmentos y los datos durante la marcha (como en garmin o hamerhead) mientras se ve tambien el mapa.
hello, with the new 10.8.0beta1 it seems to me that the map display and movement is much slower and also it appears much darker. Is this just my impression?
ps my comparison is with the current GP on the same phone, sharing Openandromaps, DEM file and Elevate theme

Hello, this latest beta has the latest Mapsforge libraries, in principle it also seems to me that it renders a little slower but only in the first instance, once the images are cached they seem to have the same fluidity
Regarding the shading there are changes in the algorithm, it has been improved, now with the MAPSFORGE SHADING the flat areas are not "tinted" which greatly improves the relief effect.
If you're seeing darker, check in settings maps > maps Mapsforge > shading > shading magnitude.
You may have a higher magnitude level and that is why it seems darker to you.

Hello, while this suggestion whether or not to implement it in OruxMaps, you can see the date of the maps in the corresponding file in the Android file manager, whether they are downloaded from web like Openandromaps, or downloaded with the map maker within the OruxMaps app
Your request is quite interesting and of general interest, at least also for me.

Oruxmaps es una herramienta maravillosa y vaya esta confesión por delante.
Muchos montañeros/senderistas la utilizamos como guía sobre el terreno, donde cuando no hay cobertura el único apoyo que llevamos encima es el que no depende de conexiones con terceros.
Esa es la razón por la que mi intervención está enfocada en destacar aspectos de la aplicación que pueden aún mejorar mucho en la experiencia offline y muy en especial en la consulta/visualización de los mapas.
Basten como muestra las dos imégenes del enlace que pongo al final de este escrito que estoy seguro sorprenderán a más de uno y sí, estas imágenes son capturas de pantalla de Oruxmaps sin más manipulación que la de unirlas en una sola.
Hay que tener en cuenta que el nivel de zoom utilizado para la creación de las imágenes es el 14 y que en niveles superiores aparecen más detalles,.
La imagen más grande está formada por 48 pantallazos y estos son sus datos técnicos:
Orux app: v10.6.3

Y a continuación la razón de que esto vaya en el hilo de la Beta 3
La imagen pequeña cubre una pequeña area de la imagen grande y podemos ver que el cambio de "renderizado" empeora claramente la percepción del relieve (creo está universalmente aceptado una fuente de luz que viene del NW en un ángulo de unos 45º); no puedo saber si este cambio es debido a una elección en el tipo de sombreado (Orux app), o a un cambio interno en la nueva versión de la/s librerias Mapsforge (Mapsforge libs). Entiendo que si estuviéramos en el primer caso la solución sería fácil y rápida y que ante diferencias de opinión bastaría con sacar los posibles tipos de sombreado a la interface de usuario para que éste pudiera elegir según sus preferencias, tal como ha ocurrido ya con la profundidad del sombreado.
Otro aspecto en el que hay un retroceso en las nuevas librerías es que no aceptan los archivos HGT con la resolución 1/4" que sí permitían las antiguas. No habrá muchos afectados porque, como ya dije antes, los archivos HGT utilizados son personales, aunque envié una muestra a José Vázquez (Orux) para que pudiera hacer pruebas con ellos. La imagen pequeña sólo tiene 1/2" arcsec de resolución horizontal, también a partir de archivos HGT personales.
Desgraciadamente nunca fue posible utilizar mayores resoluciones a partir de los MDT02 del IGN (por ejemplo 1/8" arcsecond), y no por problemas técnicos ya que los archivos HGT no tiene formato, simplemente son una sucesión de enteros de 2 bytes con el valor de la altitud de cada uno de los puntos geográficos representado.
SUGERENCIA: Quizá fuera del agrado de muchos usuarios de Orux la posibilidad de "renderizar" un área elegida sobre un bitmap, en lugar de la pantalla, que pudiera imprimirse para utilizarlo como cualquier otro mapa en papel. Supongo que se aprecia claramente en la imagen grande la excelencia del posible mapa resultante.

First of all, I'd like to thank you for your wonderful Oruxmaps application, which I've been using for many years in various sports, such as walking, running and cycling.

I don't know if my question is in the right topic, sorry if it isn't.
I bought an ANT+ beurer digital box and paired it as a pedometer with Orux. I set up an ANT+ speed field to see my speed in real time.
Unfortunately, the sensor is not properly calibrated. If I'm walking, the calibration isn't so bad, but when I'm running, it's not accurate.
The official way to calibrate it is to buy a Beurer watch and use the sensor with it.
To get around the problem, I paired it with a Garmin watch as a Foot pod and discovered that there is a "Calibration Factor" setting.
This parameter can be set manually and, what's more, it can be calibrated automatically and continuously, so my speed is very accurate.
It seems that the automatic calibration is based on GPS distance, I don't know if the calibration factor is updated every km (if GPS satellites are accessible, which is sometimes difficult in the woods).
The question is: would is be possible to add a field to enter a calibration factor value for an ANT+ foot?
If so, would it be possible to add another parameter with a distance to update the auto-calibration dynamically (every 100m every 1KM ???)
