Title: Offline OSM maps
Post by: vlotarev on June 17, 2019, 08:59:49 AM
Dear guru,

Many navigation software have an ability to pre-load some OSM maps and use them offline later. I am just wondering whether Orux has such a feature?

Thanks in advance,

Vadim

Hi Vadim,

Oruxmaps supports the mapsforge map format.

You can take an OSM planet extract, convert it to a mapsforge map file, add styling to have the map match your visual taste and... use it offline.

Hi,

why not simply download and use offline maps and Elevate-theme from https://www.openandromaps.org/en/ within OruxMaps?

Map data from Openstreetmap, enriched by contourlines.

Mapsforge, nice "Elevate-theme" with styles for hiking, city, cycling and mountainbike.
